Vehicles in German Town Found Smeared with Swastikas in Human Blood, Police Confirm

Officers stated they were notified by a man who found a automobile in Hanau covered with red-colored substance

Approximately fifty automobiles have been covered with what seems to be human blood in the Germany's city of Hanau near Frankfurt, police confirm authorities.

Cars, building surfaces and mailboxes were defaced, occasionally with prohibited symbols, they reported in a official communication.

Officers report they were alerted during the night on Wednesday night, when a resident discovered that a automobile in the Lamboy area of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.

The fluid had been placed in the shape of a Nazi symbol, they reported.

Officers then located multiple other vandalized vehicles and building exteriors in the nearby vicinity.

Swastikas are prohibited in Germany under legislation banning the visible presentation of Nazi-era symbols.

Officials report early analysis show the liquid was probably blood from a person.

"At present there remains no indication as to where it came from; investigators are not yet cognizant of any harm in relation with the event," they stated.

Local authorities announced they were working "to solve the incident" and have appealed to the public for details.

A high-ranking official commented the attack left him without words and had to be resolved quickly.

"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and reopens the pain of the right-wing violent incident half a decade ago," he wrote on social media, referring to the murder of nine people by a assailant aiming at people of foreign heritage in 2020.
