I'll overwhelm 'legitimate fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

Anthony Joshua prepares to battle Jake Paul in an eight round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.

British boxer Anthony Joshua declared he will "stamp all over" Jake Paul and "break" his opponent as the pair confronted each other to publicize next month's bout.

Ex twice unified heavyweight champion Joshua battles YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul - in what is, on paper, a mammoth mismatch - at Miami Kaseya Center on December 19th.

Fighter's Mindset

"I'm going to damage his features and hurt his body. I aim to demonstrate my superiority," Joshua, 35, declared.

"I will dominate him completely. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I intend to genuinely try to injure him. That's my goal."

Respectful Interaction

In spite of those words, a relaxed Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - usually recognized for his dramatics - were respectful and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead criticized ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and labeled him "not serious" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.

Taking Aim at Fury

Anthony Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK opponent Tyson Fury - and refused a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a Paul win.

"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he showed up," the boxer said.

"I give him credit for that."

Serious Opponent

Despite stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's pugilistic talent.

"Jake Paul is a serious fighter," he stated.

Jake Paul's Background

Paul - who first rose to fame on the Disney Channel - has mostly boxed mixed martial artists or faded names since entering professional boxing.

He was defeated by British fighter Tommy Fury in last year.

Commercial Attraction

Still, the inexperienced fighter continues to be one of the sport's largest money-making draws, consistently making substantial financial rewards.

Forecast and Confidence

The 28-year-old anticipated a knockout win in round four or five and asserted he would derail the highly-expected Joshua–Fury fight, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be myself against Tyson Fury next year," Paul declared.

Physical Difference

As Joshua and Paul engaged in the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast on show, it emphasized just how unlikely this entire matchup is - and how astonishing it is that the fight is truly happening.
